Innovation in Hybrid Vessels

TRACEL in partnership with COPPE/UFRJ, Furnas and a group of Brazilian and foreign companies, is executing a project to produce vessels with electric propulsion: 100% electric, ethanol and hydrogen hybrids.

The vessels are in the manufacturing phase, and two models will be constructed, one for the transportation of passengers, vehicles and cargo in rivers and lagoons of Brazil’s interior, and the other designed for passenger transportation in the Guanabara Bay that may operate in sheltered waters and possibly in open sea.

TRACEL in addition to producing and developing parts of systems and subsystems, integrates technologies focused on meeting specific market demands.
