Product description

Converts a voltage from a direct current source (DC Bus) to AC voltage with amplitude and frequency control for varying speed and torque of squirrel cage induction motors. The device contains a three-phase bridge topology with IGBT transistors with low conduction and switching losses, thus ensuring high energy efficiency and lower volume with smaller heat sinks. Motor speed control is achieved by varying simultaneously frequency along with output voltage, maintaining constant torque (scalar control) according to motor specifications. The ratio V/f (voltage/frequency) is kept constant for various speed ranges, with compensation for the lower speeds due to stator resistance change at lower frequencies. Operates with sinusoidal PWM switching through the Space Vector technique that optimizes the performance of the three-phase IGBT bridge reducing the number of commutations and consequently shrinking losses from power semiconductor switching. Control is performed by a state-of-the-art Digital Signal Processor (DSP) allowing high speed acquisition of electrical parameters and reliable control algorithm execution. Device input has EMI filters that provide EMC with other equipment.
